Saving money at the Laundromat

As I sit here at the Laundromat waiting for my laundry to dry I know that when you go to a laundromat to do your laundry the thought of saving any money there does not really cross most people minds, however there are ways to save money if you have to go to the Laundromat.

Find one that gives you a free load after X amount of loads. It may take a few phone calls to find one that does it but it can definitely save you money since most in my area only vary by about .25 a load. Ours gives a free load after 5 loads, downside is no matter what size load you use it takes 5 to get the free one. After calculating it out I have found that by doing 5 off the smallest loads, that cost $3 to wash I spend $15 to get my free one. The larger loads that hold less then 2 of the $3 loads cost $6 and to get the free one I would have to spend $30 to get my free load.

I know that this is a bit of a random thought, but while sitting here waiting for my stuff to dry I thought I might share it with you, for those who do need to use a laundromat to wash their clothes:)
