In a few short weeks my kiddos will be heading back to school, and this year we ran into a tough spot. All 3 of them end school at 3pm, the older 2 at the school about 200 yards from my house and Alyssa is at a preschool 8 minutes away from my house which put me figuring out how I was going to be in 2 places at once. Thankfully this is only 3 days a week and not every day and there is a chance that the morning classes will open for Alyssa and we won’t have to worry about it but for now we had to work out a plan.
We looked at different options and when the option to test out Walmart Family Mobile it was just what we were looking for. I did not want a contract in case things change and we no longer need it. I also wanted something easy to set up. I headed to the Walmart store with the Phone walmart sent me, then bought the sim card (make sure they activate it before you leave the store) and them came home used the phone system to set it up and then I was good to go. We did have a few set backs with set up but that was on the store front not the mobile front so no issues with the actual cellular service. Then to pay the bill they send a text and you pay it. Super easy!
If you are looking for a cheap wireless plan check out the the Walmart Family Mobile plan, it is affordable, it is $39.88 for the first line and then $35 for each additional line. If it came to a point where we need to cancel it we can at anytime, I like that especially for if I was going to be using this phone for a teenager, having the control over electronics is important to me when the world is becoming more and more about technology. Walmart also offers many different price points for phones with some starting at around $30!
So as I was saying before I got lost in talk about the Walmart Family Mobile plan – The solution we came up with is that I will pick Alyssa up 10 minutes early from preschool (the earliest I am technically allowed to) and then rush over to the older 2 at their school to pick them up. There will how ever be a 3-5 minute gap in the time that they leave the building until I get to them and so we are going to have them call me on the cell phone and talk to me while waiting for me to get there. Even though they will get at their school and surrounded by others I do not want them to be “alone”, and yes even with them waiting for me inside the school building by the front doors. This will give me the security knowing that they are both ok and that they are still at the school. We will also be using this so they can walk to school with out me, however as funny as this might sound I am going to be walking with them 1/2 way (till I can see them enter the school fully) and then they will call me and walk the rest of the way. It gives them the freedom that McKenzie has been asking for and me the feeling of being ok with them walking alone.
