I know many of you have left comments on my giveaways asking why I ask for the e-mail to be in the comment. I like to keep things the same for all giveaways, I like rules/entry methods to stay as consistent as I can. The main reason for having you leave your email in the comment is so for giveaways that have the daily tweet or if you were to come back again and do another entry method I am able to easily find your e-mail address. When I select the winner I use Random.org and the number they give me is the winner, I then go and make sure that the winner has actually completed the Mandatory Entry(if the winning comment is an extra entry comment) and that they have completed the extra entry. It takes quite a bit of time sometimes to verify the winner’s done what was required. My reason for deleting the entries that do not qualify is because if out of 300 entries 50 do not qualify it will still look as though there are 300 entries in to the giveaway. I think it is fair to those entering to know exactly how many TRUE entries there really are. It takes me a bit of extra time to go through and moderate the comments to make sure they all qualify before being posted.
I know some do not like to post their e-mail address in comments, all for different reasons. I do have the option of going to a google form, where I will be the only one who sees your e-mail address. I would be fine doing that but that then does not allow people to see how many entries are in the giveaway.
Please leave me a comment letting me know how YOU feel about the giveaway entry form. Do you like it where you leave your comment and email in a comment box or would you prefer that I use a google form. I am trying to find a way to make it so we can have both, a form that tells only me your information and comments so that all entries are visible to those who want to enter:)
I hope that helps clarify a little as to why I have the giveaway entry set up the way I do.
