When the hurricane was making its nasty landfall here in New Jersey I was worried about losing power, and I am so thankful that I did not and that my family is safe and we are in our own home and we are very blessed. However not so many others in New Jersey are that lucky the devastation that is spread all across the state. The pictures on the news are heartbreaking as are the stories. Reader Kathy challenged us all to use our couponing skills and our stockpiles to donate supplies to those in need. With that challenge I started a facebook group (please come and join us HERE in it as we are sharing information about what supplies to donate and where to donate them too) and share it with your friends. The more people that we can get to donate just 1 box of supplies the more people we can help.
I have contacted a local fire department in Brick NJ and spoke with Cheri from the Brenton Woods Fire Company who told me they are collecting donations there and then donating them specifically to the people who are in the shelters who have lost everything. I will be taking a trip there on Monday to deliever supplies that I am pulling from my house and my stockpile and so if you are local and have anything you would like to donate please send me an e-mail Lauren @ MidgetMomma.com and we can find a place to meet and I will bring them with me.
- Clothing – all sizes
- toys- all age groups
- nonperisable food
- personal care products
- health care products (Bandaids ect)
If you are not local you can mail donations to them at this address:
Breton Woods Fire Company,
665 Mantoloking Rd,
Brick, NJ 08723
Let’s all use our money saving skills to help those who have lost everything that they had because of Hurricane Sandy and let’s make a difference in their lives. One person can have a great idea but it takes a community to make a difference and that is what MidgetMomma.com is a community of awesome and generous amazing people and I know we can pull together to make a BIG difference in helping these people!
