Why be a mystery shopper is a question I get asked often. Well it is a fun job, I would not use it as my sole income, however as a way to save money on things like clotes, auto repairs, dining out and other things this is a great way to offset the cost. Yes tere are some shops that do not pay your for it, but you are reimbursed so you are getting it for free money wise but using your time instead to get they service or item free. I enjot mystery shopping, hubby and I have used it for dates for us, taken the kids to a family outing and saved a lot of money on auto repairs and clothes by doing mystery shops. The main reasons I mystery shop is to save my family money on things we need and use and to bring in a few extra bucks that we can use as fun money.
While it is fun, it is still a job and it is something that you do need to be serious if you are going to do it. Telling a company that you will preform a mystery shop and then bailing will not only make it harder for you to get jobs with them again(or if at all if they do not remove you) but you are then taking it away from someone else and hurting the company you are supposed to be doing the shop for.
My main suggestion for mystery shopping is to do the ones that interest you and benefit you, if you are not going to want a haircut then don’t sign up for a job for one. If you are looking for car repairs then sign up for that one. Doing the ones that interest you are going to be the ones that are fun for you and the jobs will be easier. If it is something that you do not enjoy it will be difficult to remember the information you need to remember.
