So I am going to start off saying this, We stayed at the Ramada in Asheville for 2 nights. On the first night(Wendsday) we called to inform the front desk clerk of the issues, the next morning I called Wyndham and was informed that it would be passed along and that the hotel had until Monday to contact me or I needed to contact them back. Well the hotel never contacted me so I contacted Wyndham again who instructed me to give the hotel until midnight Tuesday the 28th for the hotel to get back to me they did not. The representative I spoke with told me that they had talked to the hotel and the hotel said we did have internet(which we didn’t) and that they were going to contact us. So I just called them back to be told I would need to call back tomorrow(June 30th) to see if they can do anything and they are saying that they e-mailed us and called me…. however no e-mail has been recived nor did my phone ring….
With our experience there I would have expected MUCH better customer service! Frankly I would have preferred not to share this post with you, but with what we had in the room and with their seemingly lack of caring this has come to be. Please note I am not bashing against a company, I did give them plenty of time to remedy the situation and I would never want anyone to deal with this. I have not included all of the pictures I took of our room, but you can see just what I am talking about from the ones that I have posted.
And so here it goes…
As you all know Tom and I went to the Type-A-Parent conference this past week in Asheville North Carolina. Well our first 2 nights were spent at the Ramada, to put it nicely the next time we are in town this is not where we will be staying, nor will we be staying at another Ramada or Wyndham property again. What went wrong you may ask? Well where to begin is what I ask….
However I will start with the good things that the hotel had, they had breakfast at Ihop included in the stay, which was something I really liked. They had a play area for kids and the inside areas of the hotel like the pool and kids play area were clean. The guy who checked us in was super nice and I was nice to meet someone as nice as him after us driving for over 12 hours.
When we arrive we were told there was no internet and cable because of a storm and that the whole area was with out, which after seeing other bloggers who were here in the area online I knew that it was not the whole area of Asheville who could not get online. Our cable was restored by morning however we never got internet. I do not blame the desk clerk for saying this, as he too seemed frustrated with the loss of internet and he was letting everyone know what he was told to.
The room was filthy. There is no other word for it. The floor was covered in dirt, the carpet was coming up in the middle of the floor, our sheets were dirty, the dresser was covered in a while gunk so was the TV, the safe was covered in gunk and what looked like blood. The bathroom was no better than the room, the counter where the sink was had some gross brown gunk all over the side(I don’t even want to know what that was) and the bathtub was broken, no way to take a bath(not that I would want to sit in the tub, even though it looked clean the way the rest of the room was I was not about to sit in the tub).
Dirty Coffee Pot
Toilet Paper Roll Holder
I wish I could say that the filth of the room is where it ended but I can’t, the smoke detector was broken and had no battery in it and the safe had no key and the phone did not work no cable and internet for the first night and no internet at all while we were there.(I did call the front desk asking for help and was told they needed to call their techy guy)
No Battery in a Smoke detector
Have you dealt with a situation like this? What was the outcome? Did the company remedy the situation?
