A US solider(played by Zack Efron) fighting in the war finds a photo of a woman laying on the ground, because he was able to escape with out injury he now sees this woman as a person who saved his life and he sets out to find her. Once he finds her, and learns her name is Beth (played by Taylor Schilling) his plan is to tell her who he his and how he found her and then learns that the man who was carrying the photo was her brother who was killed in action in the war. As he takes a job with her and her family business over time a romantic connection occurs between the two of them. With quite a few twists and turns in this movie there are lots of smiles to be had and lots of tears to shed too.
I watched this movie with my husband, who himself has been deployed to a war zone and while he has never been out beyond the base that he was at you could tell that this movie touched him and brought back memories. As the wife of someone who has been deployed it brought back the thoughts and feelings for me of how happy I was to see him when he returned home from his deployment. While the movie was a bit slow getting started and the exacts of what was going on at first were a bit off this movie once it got going was heart touching and a great one to watch with my husband. The time it takes to get up to the love story between the two characters is a bit long but well worth watching and some of the events that happen will really make you think about your family and the relationships that you do have.
