I am very excited for summer break to get here, only 10 more days until school is out and this momma is very happy about that! I am of course trying to not show my kids how much I am waiting for the summer break to get here but it is getting challenging.
Summer break in our house means things are a little bit more relaxed, schedules are semi-thrown out the window and I get up and go at the spur of the moment just because we can. It means spontaneous trips to the park, or to the Zoo (which is why we buy season passes), random trips to the beach since it is only an hour away and I can tell the kids “let’s go to the beach” and the run to get their stuff together and we are out the door in a a few short minutes. We also take trips to pick fruits and veggies at the local U-Pick farms which the kids love and then of course we come home and make something with it!
It also means we can stay up later, cuddle on the couch and watch a movie or 2 and most of the time there is no fight for bedtime because we have been worn out through out the day.
It is filled with ice-pops, playing outside, games inside when it is raining, coloring, painting, veggie picking, and just having fun and enjoying the kiddos! It is my favorite time of year when the stress of school and being on time and what the kids need to wear is gone for a few months and if we want to spend the day chillin in our PJs watching movies because it is raining we can!
What are your plans this summer? What do you love most about summer?
