I know I know, you saw me say the words skip the morning coffee out and were like “Woah, Lauren! That is the fuel for the day”. As a fellow coffee addict I know those words are quite scary. Skipping Dunkin or Starbucks is more then just changing routine for some folks and comes with a little anxiety however the amount of savings that comes from it is well worth it.
When I leave the house I need my coffee to keep me going, that for a long time meant a run thru the Dunkin Donuts drive thru every time I passed it. That gets REALLY expensive, even when you use the Dunkin Donuts app and earn free coffees. So now when I am headed out I make a cup of coffee to bring with me.
Using my Keurig, I brew a cup and use my Contigo travel coffee mug and I am good to go! Plus I always stock up when I find Kcups on sale! My favorite place to grab them is on Amazon, when I see a HOT deal I stock up! Even if you do not find them on sale and you get them, you will still save money, as it is about 50¢ per kcup vs $2-$5 for a cup of coffee!
If you want to get even more savings, use a regular coffee pot and get some really good ground coffee. You can make a cup of coffee that way for about 25¢ a cup! You can buy a coffee maker for $15-$20 on Amazon! You can get AMAZING Deals on coffee pots around the holiday shopping season (November and December) so make sure you keep an eye out on the blog or in our facebook group for when we post about the great deals!
For the times that you HAVE to have a cup of Dunkin or Starbucks make sure you grab a gift card from Raise.com and then use that for buying your coffee splurges! You will save upto 20% on gift cards, this is where I get mine and I spend about $40 for a $50 Dunkin Donuts gift card!
