I feel like I am on over drive, just about every single day. I get up in the morning and its getting kids ready for school (thankfully 3 days a week for me and Tom takes the other 2 days) then its work time, then some where in between working is managing to get grocery shopping in, paying the bills, cleaning the house, then getting the kids from school, homework time, after school activity time, then dinner time, bath and shower time for the kids, then bedtime then more work time, then squeezing in some time to spend with Tom, then getting on line for a bit longer (or what I plan to have only be a bit longer and then I look up and 3 hours have gone by, its then 4am and in 3.5 hours time to get up to get the kids to school), and the “me time” I planned on having just to clear my head, take a step back and breathe doesn’t happen and I just go to bed knowing that if I stay up any longer that functioning the next day is going to be worse then any experience I had of taking 3 kids who needed a nap to the grocery store when they were all under the age of 5.
And yes, I put that all as one sentence, because that is how my brain works, everything just bleeds together and somehow the days get past me and are over before I have gotten through my to do list and the next starts with me trying to catch up …. a vicious cycle that seems to have no end (or at least no end in site!)
I had a plan of attack when the school year started… get kids ready for school, work during the day, homework, activtiy, dinner, bed, work then hang out and relax time and yet it is now April with 3 months of school left and I have NOT gotten that plan of attack under way and really I see no way of that even happening.
Life needs a pause button, one where we as moms can hit is and get all caught up (including on our sleep) and then hit unpause and everyone else was just in pause mode so we are able to not be so busy that we feel like we are missing out on life and everything that we need to get done…
Anyone know where one can get such a button?
Me either! But I promise you this when I find one I will share it with all of you so you too can catch up on everything that you need to get done, and no one else will realize time passed and then us moms can get caught up!
Until then I think I am going to leave the dishes in the sink and the dirty laundry on the bathroom floor and hope for the magical cleaning fairy to come and clean it up and that when the alarm goes off on my phone in the morning to get the kids to school I hear it.
