Activities are an important party of the party, as kids get older letting them just run around and play does not cut it anymore. Here are some activity ideas that are budget friendly and fun for kids!
Beaded Bracelets and necklaces
- Beads – At most craft stores you can buy bags of 1000 beads for about $10
- String – about $4
- total= about $14 for a craft for about 20 kids to make both a bracelet and necklace (depending on the size of the child)
Dress Up/Fashion show-Have the kids dress up and put on a fashion show for all the adults
- Find Halloween costumes dirt cheap after Halloween and save them for use when having a birthday party.
- Go to the thrift store, Goodwill or Salvation Army and buy adult or children clothes that fit the theme of your party
Scavenger Hunt– Instead of handing out the treat bags at the end of the party when everyone leaves, make up clues and have the kids follow the clues to find the treat bags or even to a pinata where the bags are and have the kids get their treats from the pinata.
Decorate T Shirts-Let kids color their own T-Shirts, you can use fabric paint or fabric crayons and draw designs on the shirts before the party that go with the theme. Use boys undershirts that come in a 3 pack or find solid colored shirts on sale for around $2-$3.
Coloring– if you have younger children at the party, print coloring pages that go with your party theme for them to color.
Board Games-There are board games that are many different characters, I have seen tons of games lately for Toy Story. Have the kids get into groups and play different board games and rotate after they are done to a different game.
Please feel free to share any budget friendly party activities that you have done at your parties:)
