Don’t laugh…ok you know what do laugh, because when I look back on what happened the other day I do start to giggle and I am now sad that I did not go get my camera and take a picture before I cleaned my daughter up. Hubby and I were getting stuff done around the house and all of a sudden we hear the youngest scream “I’m Blue, I’m Blue” of course I am thinking she probably colored a picture with a blue crayon and wanted to show me (that is what normally is the case when she starts screaming a color or a few different colors). Well I was WRONG very wrong. I walked down the hall to find her covered in blue, her legs, her hands her arms. She was a mess. So of course I ask her what is it (knowing what it was because of the smell) and get “I help myself be blue Mommy” with a huge smile on her face and she looked so proud. I hate having to burst her bubble and tell her that she is not supposed to be blue nor cover herself in blue nail polish. Clean up was easy thankfully and so if you ever run into this situation here is how how you can get nail polish off of your child easily.
Get out the nail polish remover, I use Piggy paint Nail Polish Remover (I like that it is Nontoxic, has no smell and is made from natural ingredients). Wipe down your child with wipes and then pour the nail polish remover on to toilet paper and wipe the nail polish off. Then put them in the tub and use body wash to get off whatever is still on them.
We also ended up having to wash a stuffed animal that was covered in Nail Polish from her hands, which was much easy then I thought. Just hold the stuffed animal over the sink and pour nail polish remover on the spots that have nail polish remover and then run cold water over the spots until it runs clear and is clean 🙂
Make sure you do it as soon as you find it so that it does not set in.
Have you ever have had your child cover themselves in nail polish?
