Yes you heard me say it, I have a messy house (not to be confused with dirty) but messy it is! Take a look in my kitchen and you will see dirty dishes in my sink (even with 2 loads of dishes done every day), next to my laundry closet is a pile of laundry waiting to be done (can’t get caught up on that either) my living room during the day is flooded with the kids toys, my bed room has a pile of laundry that needs to be put away and a growing pile of products that I am doing reviews on, the 1/2 wall shelf between our kitchen and living room has a pile of papers (school papers, mail ect) and right now the kids rooms are actually spotless(because we did them last night). BUT I can not remember a time when my house was completely spotless, and there was nothing out of place. I have come to terms with that, I have come to learn that while I would love to have a spotless house there are more important things in life then a spotless house.
My grandmother used to tell me that “A house will always have cleaning to be done, and the mess will always be there. But your kids will not always be little and they will grow up fast so enjoy them while you can”!
I will admit it took me a few years to come to terms with that, when I only had my oldest keeping my house spotless was so easy especially since all I did was play with her and clean and then when our son was born I got a job when he was 6 months old and I had to prioritize and it was a struggle to see dirty dishes in the sink but I wanted to spend time with my kids so I calmed down a bit. Then it hit even harder what my grandmother meant when I was in school and had 3 kids (thankfully hubby is great about cleaning too) but the house was hardly ever spotless and now with 3 kids, 2 in school (and all the papers that they bring home), running around to drop them off and pick them up (my son goes 3 days a week for 3 hours a day), grocery shopping, hubby being in school, blogging and everything else in life I can proudly say my house is clean but still messy and I am ok with that!
As a mom I know many of us struggle with the balance of housework and kids and even more so if we work even if we work from home, so I want you all to not stress about a bit of a mess but take that time to enjoy your kiddos before they grow up to fast!
