I am pulling my hair out recently, as I am sure many of you are as well. The amount of delays and snow days that we have had are making all of us in the house itching to have it melt and go away.
In the past 3 weeks the kids have not had a full week of school, last week they had only 1 day that was a full day ,the rest were either no school or 2 hour delays. This week we had a 2 hour delay on Monday, early dismissal yesterday and a snow day today and they have conferences tomorrow and Friday so the kids are off… joy!
I love my kids, and I love spending time with them but at this rate I see us missing all of our summer vacation because we will be making up all of these days. Summer is when we can actually go out and do things, currently we can not even get out of the driveway (why we thought a hilled drive way with gravel was a great idea when buying this house is beyond me).
Really I feel like screaming, is it to much to ask for a full week of school?!?!?!
My house is a MESS! (Even thought I cleaned it top to bottom a few days ago, but with everyone home it dishes are used at every meal, toys are thrown every where and my hard work is slowly being thrown away).
The kids have had enough, the whining has gotten out of control (to the point where I took the kindles away and I wish I hadn’t but I can’t give them back with out them thinking its ok to misbehave even when they are coped up in the house) .
I think Tom has started talking to the shovel, they spend enough time together that they may as well be BFFs.
I am behind on my work like almost to the point where playing catch up is stressing me out. Having 3 kids at home while working from home, who are bored because they have played with every toy they own, colored, painted, built legos, watched movies, read books ect, that I can not send outside to play and have them burn off their energy is really putting a dent in getting all the things done that I need to.
So please mr snow maker, I BEG you just 1 full week of school to save everyone’s sanity! That is all I ask! Let me get caught up, get the house cleaned (or even just caught up enough that dishes are not always flowing out of the sink and all over the kitchen).
What are you doing to keep your family sane with all this time off from school?
