If you are in the beautiful Pocono Mountains then a must stop dining location is the Desaki Hibachi Restaurant in Swiftwater Pa. We are huge fans of sushi and Hibachi so when we were invited to try out the restaurant it was an anonymous yes from all three of my kids. When we are traveling or going our to eat in general I want my kids to explore new flavors, expand their palettes and enjoy great tasting food.
Upon walking into Desaki you will be excited to get seated at your table, where they will cook your meal right in front of you. The menu is filled with amazing appetizers from many different variations of sushi to shrimp and vegetable tempura, shushami, spring rolls and more!
Desaki Hibachi | Things to do in the Poconos
As your appetizers are being brought out your awesome, talented and entertaining chef will come out to get started with cooking your dinner. You will love every minute of him cooking in front of you! It is not just cooking but actual entertainment that will have you laughing and smiling the whole time! The whole family gets involved, the chefs sing, crack jokes and you can tell they really love their jobs and not just the cooking portion but the entertaining as well.
After the awesome show the food that you put in your mouth will amaze your taste buds. I picked the scallops and lobster hibachi. They cook all the food in front of you and they cook the sides as well. As they cook the food they put it on your plate. With your meal you pick what meat you want and have the choices of scallops, chicken, lobster, steak, shrimp and more. Each meal comes with rice, veggies and lo mien. All of which is insanely amazing!
I will warn you, there is a TON of food that is served, which for us means doggy bags come home and we have breakfast the next day. With our meal we ended up with enough left overs for the kids and I to each have breakfast and lunch after we got home. The cost for the food and the amazing quality is well worth it. You may look at the menu and say wow that is expensive, but I can tell you from experience that the family and I will be going back. Tom missed out when we went to check them out and I told him it is well worth every penny that it costs. Add in the entertainment and it is more then just a great place to eat. Be prepared to spend about 2 hours while dining, between the cooking and enjoying the food. This is a place the whole family will enjoy!

I absolutely LOOOOVE sushi. This place that you went to not only looks DELICIOUS but upbeat, entertaining and a lot of fun! If I ever venture through PA (Which is possible since I’m only in IL) I will have to see if we can check this place out. Great travel review!!
