We have all seen the Huggies Jean Diapers and I am sure many have seen the new Pampers Brand diapers that come in frilly patterns for girls and argyle patterns for boys. Now I will admit they are adorable BUT are they worth the extra cost?

An Article on USA Today, “Manufacturer’s Try Designer Diapers to Boost Sales” gave me words I never would have associated with diapers before such as Diapers being called an “affordable luxury” for parents who are fashion conscious since they can have their child just wear a diaper instead of buying outfits their child will out grow.
The designer diapers cost about 20% more per pack (unless you score them at 75% off at the end of summer time) and you get less diapers per pack.
I personally like having lots of little outfits and I am unsure how it is cheaper to buy diapers for my kid to walk around in then buying outfits…. A diaper is a one time use and outfits can be used over and over again by not just one kid but they can be passed around and shared with friends and family who have kids after kids out grow them. In my opinion it is cheaper to buy real clothes.
The Pampers Designer Diapers are $12.99 for 23 size 4 diapers at Target.com, that is .56 a diaper! The Huggies Jean Diapers are $19.99 for 60, which is .33 a diaper!
Is this something you would pay more for? What is your opinion of Designer Diapers?
