I scroll through my facebook feed daily and I am always shocked at how many people are posting about GMOs, sugar, fast food ect and how it is going to kill us and that we should all be eating only healthy food items and that because people choose to eat McDonalds are going to die and then it is duck and hide if someone posts a picture of the Mocha Frappe then all hell breaks out and the attacks starting coming and don’t stop.
As a mom I want to make sure my kids eat a healthy balanced diet and that they are eating things that are good for them but there is no way I am going to take out every sweet item, every fatty food and every bad for us things from our diet. No I am not going to feed my kids McDonalds every single day and yes I am going to make sure that they are eating healthy items for the most part. I am very lucky that they will eat just about anything I put in front of them but to call me a bad mom because I let my kids eat food that isn’t healthy at times. I know I am not the only one who hears crap when they post that they are taking their kids to McDonalds or giving them a cookie. It has to be that whole “mom bashing thing that so many like to do to make them feel better about themselves, and to be honest it is sickening).
The comments keep on coming as I am sure you are aware when you get them too, but as a mom I am fully aware of what is in the food they are eating and because i make that choice doesn’t make me or any other parent who chooses it a bad parent.
So yes give me that Big Mac (or right now the Crispy Chicken Bacon Clubhouse Sandwich) and I will enjoy every bit of it while my kids eat their chicken nuggets on occasion, or what ever other item it is I choose to treat us to and the rest of the time we will eat our veggies, fish, chicken and sushi and enjoy each meal we have!
