The festivals at Shawnee Mountain are talked about often and when I lived there I never went to them, I really should have they are a great way to experience different cultures and learn about food along with eating some really yummy goodies! When the kiddos and I took our trip to the Poconos back in July one of our activities was heading to the Wurst Festival at Shawnee Mountain.
I am not a stranger to Shawnee Mountain, as a kid I went there often to go snowboarding in the winter and a few winters I worked there as well in the Ski shop. Going to the festival brought a new look to the Shawnee Mountain that I am used to going to – because of course there is no snow in the summer time 😉 The whole festival was filled with German and Polish themes from music and food to ethnic craft vendors and activities for all to enjoy including “Hotdog” races!
Through out the year there are many different festivals that are held at Shawnee Mountain and each one gives you a look into a certain culture, type of food ect and after going to the Wurst Festival I think the kiddos and I will be checking out other ones that they have through out the year as well.
If you are every visiting the Poconos or you live in the Poconos I would suggest checking the festivals out, the kids and I had a ton of fun and it was a way to relax and enjoy time with each other.
Disclaimer: I was provided tickets to the Wurst Festival. No compensation was received and all opinions are 100% my own.
