If you are a Mom then I want you to by pass this post and just share it to your husbands Facebook wall, email him or send him the link to this post via text. I know, I know this is a little out of the normal for me, but trust me you want to do this 🙂
Now for the men reading this, I am going to SAVE YOUR MOTHER’S DAY! Like seriously you are going to be the best husband ever!
I am going to tell you a secret that Mom’s do not want to admit, so please keep it between us!
We like a clean house more than we will ever admit to our husbands or our friends. It is like the elephant in the room that you just do not mention. The mess that we have floating around the house stresses us out like crazy, even if we say it doesn’t bother us. This is our safety protection from over stressing ourselves out. If we openly admitted just how much the unscrubbed floors bothered us we would cause ourselves to start thinking about it and then stress ourselves out about it. It is better to deny that it bothers us that we do not have homes that sparkle then let it stress us out.
We know that our kids needs and spending time with them is our priority and when it is a toss between doing something that will better the kids or mopping the floor the kids always win. It is just the way it is!
I can’t believe I am actually going to say this next thing out loud, however for the sake of all Mom’s I am. Our house is hardly ever in the shape I would be 100% happy with because it is labor intensive and I would much prefer to spend the time with my kids. However I keep it a secret that the not mopped floors every day really actually drive me crazy. The time it takes to get my house how I want it, is NOT worth missing out on the stuff that I do directly for the kids so we just push our annoyance aside and walk thru the house thinking to ourselves “Oh my gosh this floor”.
Studies even prove it too! According to a recent study from Merry Maids, 70 percent of moms surveyed say their definition of a clean home is less stringent since having kids. While being a mom brings joy, it also means constant messes and less free time, which naturally causes priorities to shift. And since most moms (81 percent) claim responsibility for keeping the home clean, the everyday cleanliness of the home can take a back seat.
But this year YOU, Dad can save the day and I am here to help you be the BEST husband ever this Mother’s Day!!!
Mother’s Day is going to be here soon, like next week soon! If you have not gotten the planning done, this one is one you can plan last minute and still be the winner of the day!
Merry Maids!!! – No I am not kidding! Yes I am telling you that the BEST gift would be someone to come in and clean the house for Mom!
There are two ways you could do this. One set up the appointment to have them come in and do the cleaning OR Get Mom a Merry Maids gift card! I am going to suggest the gift card option because then it leaves Mom in control of using it when she needs it and it can be the stuff that will help her the most.
I am sure you are thinking to yourself that you could clean the house up yourself and it be the same but I am going to tell you a secret. (You can thank me later). The BEST thing Tom did during my most crazy stressful time was have someone come in from Merry Maids and give my house a deep cleaning. I know you try the best you can to do it when you clean the house for her however men’s eyes do not see the tiny crumb on the window sill 😉
Merry Maids did an AMAZING job getting my house in the shape that made me feel amazing about my house. However it is something I would get myself because of how I am and thinking I can do it all myself. That is a Mom thing and we all do it. We all like to keep it quiet that we need and want help with certain things.
So this Mother’s Day be the rockstar for Mom, call Merry Maids or get Mom a gift card and let them come in and make the house the way Mom wants it to be. Make it so she can relax a bit about the house work and take the time to enjoy doing what she does best, being a Mom! Plus we all know Mom is in a much better mood when her plate is not overflowing!
