With Easter just this past weekend and then the after Easter Sales I am sure I am not the one that has a crazy amount of candy in their house.
Well the other night I wanted to make sugar cookies for dessert, but when I went into the fridge I realized that ALL of the eggs I had were hardboiled so making anything with eggs was not going to happen. I noticed on the back of the sugar cookie mix was a recipe for Smores Bars, and of course I did not have everything the recipe called for so I made my own creation, and while they do not look amazing they sure do taste amazing!
Ingrediants:
- 1 package betty crocker cookie mix
- 1 cub crumbled graham crackers – I didnt have any so I used the Nabisco spongebob ones
- 2 stick of butter
- 12-20 peeps
- 1 bag nestle morsals
Directions:
- Melt butter
- Mix cookie mix, graham crackers and butter in a bowl till blended
- Put mixture into an ungreased baking dish and form a crust on the bottom
- Bake at 350 for 10-15 mins (it will still be soft when you take it out but firm)
- pour nestle morsals on top and let melt for a few minutes then spread to have a layer of chocolate (I am sure left over easter chocolate chopped in a food processor would do just as good too)
- top with peeps ( i had 3 lines of 4 but you may need more if you use a bigger pan
- put back in oven for 5-7 minutes (you want the peeps to be really really puffy)
- Spread to the best of your ability (since peeps are slightly difficult to spread)
- Let cool for about 10 minutes
Enjoy!
