Barnabas Collins was turned into a vampire over two centuries ago, by a witch who is in love with him because he did not have the same feelings for her. As a way to ruin his life she turned him into a vampire and then he was buried alive so lay in a coffin until who knows when. He is dug up and strolls through this new time period that he knows nothing about other then the fact that he is still a vampire. The Collins family still lives in the old house he once lived in, but they are now not the family that he knew but descendants of him, who have all felt as if the family has been cursed forever. Barnabas is determined to bring back his family name into the glory that it once had, but again the lover from his past has other plans for him and his family.

First…Johnny Depp! I love movies with Jonny Depp in them 🙂 Second… There is quite a bit of humor, ok a lot of humor in this movie. I watched it with hubby and while I originally thought it might be a touch on the scary level I was wrong. I am not one for horror movies (that is hubby’s thing) the beginning of it had me thinking it was going to be a lot of scariness through out it and I was happy that it did not have that. This was a great movie for hubby and I to watch as an at home date night movie 🙂 It has a great family story line and a tad bit of romantic comedy 🙂
