For anyone that has seen the movie you know how much fun it was. Well let me tell you the game is just as fun. In fact it might be more fun because you get to control the action. So let’s see if this game is worth your hard earned money. In Hotel Transylvania you play as Mavis, the daughter of Dracula. It is her 118thbirthday so Dracula has invited a bunch of her aunts and uncles to celebrate. But when Jonathan gets into a load of trouble, Mavis must set out on an adventure to save him. She wants to find her dad because he will know what to do. When she does find him, he needs Mavis to go deliver room keys to her uncles. This is a neat way to introduce you to the characters that are in the game. There is more to discover with the story but as usual I will let you find out the rest for yourselves. The gameplay is fun. To defeat your enemies you have to jump on their heads sometimes more than once. You will collect many items that you have to go give to certain people as well. The variety of enemies is ok. You will get Zombies and skeletons and a couple others. The variety could be a little better but it is not too big of a downside. Mavis also gets all kind of special powers throughout. One of the first powers you get is Trance Stare. You can shoot the stare at an enemy and freeze them. Then you can jump on the enemies head to reach higher heights. Like I said that is just one of the many powers you will get throughout. The graphics are amazing when it comes to this size games. It is not in 3D but that does not matter. You will love the graphics trust me. The music and sounds in the game really set the mood and make you feel like you are in Transylvania. The game does seem short. I did not get to totally complete the game but after an hour my saved file says I was 58% complete. So you can see where I may be a little concerned about game length. Other than that one hiccup, this is a good, almost great game.
I would recommend this game for diehard fans of Hotel Transylvania or kids for just a casual game experience. It is rated E 10+ so please keep that in mind when purchasing this game for children under that age.
