I am not one to normally be interested in politics, or movies that are about politics, but the movie The Rise and Fall of Margaret Thatcher intrigued me. When I first read a blurb about it I was interested to learn more. The movie is based on events that happened in Margaret Thatcher’s political career and her go get ’em attitude and not letting others stand in the way of what she believed in was interesting to me.
The 2 disc DVD set, includes 3 movies, The Long Walk to Finchley, The Falklands Play and Margaret. Following the story of Margaret Thatcher in the 3 movie series, you see her struggles to become a part of parliament and then her actions and firm standing once she is a part of Parliament. You watch as she stands up believing in herself and making it to be the Prime Minister. It gives you a glance in to the political side of Britain, but no so much in a way that politics are to much to handle. Margaret Thatcher led the United Kingdom for over 10 years, but it was not with out hard work that got her to where she ended up. Her focus and determination is inspiring!
This movie was great for a relaxing evening, cuddled in a warm blanket, with a cup of Chai (or whatever your favorite warm drink is ) watching a movie, which with 3 movies gave me 3 excuses to relax 🙂
You can now purchase The Rise and Fall of Margaret Thatcher on DVD, right now it is on sale on Amazon for $26.99!
