If you have ever been pregnant and felt like a huge balloon that was about to pop, you will understand what I mean with the statement “The pregnant woman who still look amazing, haven’t gained any weight but in the belly and can still prance around in high heels” make you want to scream and throw in the “it’s just not fair card”. All three of my pregnancies were different and with my first I was the HUGE balloon and my second I was just a bit puffy and my third I was able to wear my clothes and heels and felt great. But I will tell you with my first anytime I saw someone else who was pregnant and didn’t look like a balloon I fully wished that they would(I know it is mean but I blame it on pregnancy hormones).
What to Expect When You Are Expecting covers it all, from the pretty little pregnant lady walking around in heels, to the pregnant lady who has all the symptoms that no one wants to have, to the couple who can not have a child on their own, to the young people who had an oopsey, and even the sadness of not all pregnancies ending with a baby. It brings all the joys, sadness, fun, emotions and hormones from pregnancy all in one spot in an enjoyable comedy.
But don’t worry they don’t leave the dads out in this movie, a dads group to help support one another, and share their thoughts and experiences with each other brings even more humor to the movie. While the dads meet up, strollers, bottles, diaper bags and kids in tow we see the fun challenges moms face when they are with the kids and out and about with the dads, who are proud to be dads and figuring out the whole daddy thing.
I thought the movie was hilarious, although I am not sure hubby would think the same thing but I did like that they made a point to not have it all about a happy go lucky pregnancy and showed the true colors of pregnancy for various people, because lets face it, not everything is flowers and butterflies when you are pregnant (even though there are some lucky folks who get that and can walk around in their 6 inch heels smiling)
What to Expect When You are Expecting comes to theaters today, May 18, 2012
