Recently this really nifty gadget came out, it is called Striv. To be honest when I was asked if I wanted to review one I was not sure what to think of it. I was a bit confused as to what exactly it would do for me, I am not a walker in fact the only time that I was really motivated to walk was when my oldest was 6 months old and hubby was in basic training and I wanted to surprise him with losing all the weight I had gained when I was pregnant when I went to see him at basic training. Normally for me I enjoy exercise that has me bouncing around a room like Zumba or kick boxing but since I knew using it would also help a good cause I wanted to see what it was all about.
It was much smaller then I thought it would be, but in a good way. It is small enough that I can put it in my pocket and not feel that it is there.
Striv keeps track of your steps as you walk through out the day making it easy to keep track and set a goal of how many steps you want to do each day. It is a great way to challenge yourself to get more exercise into your daily routine with out finding time for the gym. As a mom of 3 and a blogger time is stretched already (many of you know this by hanging out with me on facebook late at night). While using Striv you don’t just aim to reach your personal fitness goals, but while using Striv you pick a charity that your exercise will benefit, we choose clean water. So while walking and helping myself with my goal of walking more I am helping someone else have clean drinking water! That is not all either, Striv also has a game that as you complete personal challenges you can do more in your game!
Hubby really enjoys it, he walks all day long and we have had a few little spats on who gets to play the game after the other one has been walking with it all day 😉 We have also had the kids hijack it from us as well to play the game on it 🙂
As I said before at first glance it does not seem exciting but once you get it in your hand and can see and feel it and what it does it is a nifty device that does a whole lot of good not just for yourself but for the world! Bringing fitness, gaming and helping others into such a tiny device I think is Amazing!
Watch this video to see some of the awesomeness Striv has to offer!
