I have three kids who are all all about to be home for summer break, right now we have a battle in the mornings because no one in the house is a morning person so I look forward to the summer months where we can all sleep in like we like to 🙂 However at times it is a struggle at night for us during the summer because the kids want to stay up late because we have nothing that we HAVE to do the next Day.
Here are some great tips from sleep expert Dr. David Volpi founder of nationally recognized Eos Sleep Center.
Depending on a child’s age, summer can be a time of playing outside all day or partying all night and sleeping in late, therefore messing with the strict sleep schedule that school afforded earlier in the year. · Adjusting your Children’s Sleep Cycle: It can be difficult to rationalize to your children why they need to sleep when there’s no incentive of school or a job to wake up early to, but it will have positive health effects on their wellbeing. Dr. Volpi can weigh in on how to regulate your child’s schedule and how much sleep they need.
· The Health Benefits of Sleep: better skin, faster metabolism – sleep affords a variety of benefits, and Dr. Volpi will discuss how your children can benefit from a good night’s sleep.
· How to help your Night Owls: Some children/teens just won’t fall asleep – but maybe that’s because their room isn’t conducive to sleep! Dr. Volpi will provide top tips on how to create the perfect sleep space.
