Before I begin I know many of you know that complaining is not normally my thing unless it really gets under my skin and this is one of those things that has really gotten under my skin.
So I am mad at what I learned today about the changes Verizon Wireless is making. I have been a LOYAL Verizon Wireless customer since 2004 that is 8 years and while I never have used all the minutes on my phone plan we have always had the higher one just in case and because we got unlimited Data for $30 so I can send pictures to friends and family that live far away.
Now I am not sure what gets me more mad, the fact that they are doing the changes OR the fact that as a customer of theirs for 8 YEARS they do not have the common courtesy to send me an e-mail, letter, text ect informing me of these changes. Nope I get to learn about their changes and how my bill is going to go up by reading the USA Today Article, Verizon Wireless raises data pricing.
As you all know I used my phone ALOT when I am traveling or out and about to keep up the facebook page, tweet and check e-mails so I don’t miss anything important and there are even times that I type up posts and post deals for you while I am out and about and looking at the chart the LOWEST price for data in ADDITION to what I already pay is $10 for 1 Gigabit of data all the way up to $100 for 10 Gigabits of Data!!! That means that with how much I use sometimes (especially if I am traveling) my bill could be up to $100 more a month it is already 176 a month and that is with the military discount and honestly it is not even worth that price for how many minutes I actually use a month because I am home since I work from home. So really they make a nice chunk of money off me each month when I don’t even use my minutes.
Let me also add that while the Verizon Wireless plan says I can still keep my unlimited data package at the sametime I am losing the benefits of being a long time customer because now I will have to pay full price for any phone that I want so the upgrades that I normally get for being a “valued customer” I no longer get unless I switch to their new plan (you can see that information here) so I am stuck with a crappy choice either way – pay full price for a phone (which one of the reasons I loved Verizon was because of their old upgrade with the every 2 that I was very sad to see go when they ditched it) or pay extra every month to get a discount on a phone by switching to their new plan
