When I started this blog I didn’t know where it would end up. I didn’t know if anyone would read what I had to say, I didn’t know if the sheer amount of blogs that were out there would bury my small blog and when I started blogging there were not anywhere near the number of blogs that there are now. But I took the step because I wanted to help people, I wanted to make a difference in people’e lives and I wanted to be able to still do the stay at home mom things I loved doing and needed to do to keep our house running while Tom went to work and this was my chance. I had a choice, I could have done it and failed or done it and succeed and no matter what happened I knew I had tried.
That was in December 2008 when I started originally under my first blog name of MidgetMomma’s 1200 budget where i blogged about us living on $1200 a year for our groceries. Then the name changed to Luxury Living Frugal Style and all of the fabulous people who have been around since the beginning and knew why I had the MidgetMomma in the original name and after talking with a lot of them the decision was made to go to just MidgetMomma.com so it gave me the ability to help people with more then just saving money. It gave me the ability to add in things like loving yourself, being proud of who you are, talking about the struggles of being a mom, the good things in life and so much more!
I did take a break from March 2009- May 2010 where I went to school to get my associates degree in early childhood education and while I am proud of myself for doing it part of my reasoning for doing it was because I didn’t think I could ever make the blog what I had dreamed it to be. I had a lot of people telling me it would never work and I needed a back up plan and I know had I kept going and skipped school being a successful blogger would have happened sooner, however I am thankful for it because I am able to use my going back to school experience to help other moms go back to school and believe in themselves to go back to school.
When I went back to blogging and took it on full time in 2010 I still faced the people who told me it would never work, and then I had the select few who stood by me, who liked, commented, shared ect my blog posts, who told their friends about my blog and so many awesome readers who have done the same over the years that made it what MidgetMomma.com is today.
Its scary putting yourself out there and scary not knowing if it will work or be a flop but you never know until you try and as Moms sometimes we just need something for us, something that shows us that we are not just caretakers who are cleaning up poop and cooking dinner.
Those who are in direct sales are in the same boat I was in in 2010, they are putting themselves out there, they are doing things for themselves, they are taking a risk and when doing so everyone needs someone in their corner cheering them on and showing their support for their business adventure that they are taking.
Those in direct sales are trying something new, they are wanting to do something for themselves, for their families or whatever reason they are doing it and need the support of those around them. They have a drive and motivation that needs the support because for every 1 person supporting them there are 10 who are bashing them, or telling them to give up and the positive people need to out weight the negative and while the products that our other lady friends are selling might not be something we want, or use showing them support doesn’t have to cost us any money, a simple like on a facebook post, or a good job when they share that they have been working hard and growing their business is all it takes to show support.
I started being a distributor for Young Living back in February after using them for a few months because I got hooked on them after using them and wanted to share the information with people and help them if they wanted to get started using them. I also wanted to be able to know how it feels to be in the direct sales industry so I could find ways to help those moms who are in it. (Which soon I will be posting tips about direct sales and making them a business to help you guys) and I started it because with it I can give those of you who are interested in doing Young Living I can give you resources and help you with support and advice about turning it into a business when they sign up under me. My goal has always been to help you and the easiest way for me to do that is be familiar with how things work, learn it and share the information with you and help others build their businesses (which I can do for those who sign up to do direct sales under me with Young Living because as your sponsor it is part of my job to help people grow their businesses and I want to help as many people as I can) and after looking at the different ones and using the oils myself it lined up and was the perfect one for me (there are so many different ones that you can do so the trick is finding one that meets what you need, like, and live).
So I ask you this, if you see a friend posting about their direct sale business on facebook, give the post a like or leave a comment showing your support. Support them in that they are doing what they feel is best, what works for them and they are putting a lot of effort in to being successful and reaching their goals!
