Fried Okra Recipe
Enjoy this yummy Fried Okra on the side of any meal!! My family loves it and yours will too!!!
Prep Time 15 minutes
Cook Time 6 minutes
Total Time 21 minutes
- 1 pound Okra cut into bit sized pieces remove the top and ends and discard them
- 2 cups of milk
- 3 cups flour
- 1 tablespoon chili powder optional, hubby likes it with a little kick the kids do not
Put milk and flour into separate bowls
Add Chili powder to flour and mix if you are adding it.
Turn deep fryer onto 375
Add okra to milk - you won't add it all at once just add enough that it is all covered by the milk. You Will have to do a few separate batches. Let okra sit for about 5 minutes
Use a spoon with slots to scoop okra from milk bath and then toss in flour bowl.
Using spoon with slots put okra back into milk bath and then toss again in flour
Fry okra for 2-3 minutes in deep fryer
Once friend pour onto a plate that is lined with a paper towel
Let sit for about 3 mins then put into a bowl and sprinkle with a tad bit of salt
Repeat for the remainder of the Okra that you have.
