Ingredients

– apples, peeled and sliced – lemon juice – white sugar – water – cornstarch – cinnamon – nutmeg

Wash, peel and slice or chop the apples. In a large bowl add the apples and the lemon juice and toss apples with the lemon juice and then set aside.

In a large saucepan, over medium heat add the cornstarch and the water. Using a whisk mix together until they are well combined. Then add the sugar, cinnamon and the nutmeg to the pan and mix well.

Turn the heat to medium low and cook until tender, normally takes about 15 minutes. Stir occasionally to avoid the apple pie mixture from sticking to the pot. You may need to cook a little longer depending on your stove.

Use right away or freeze to use later for the best homemade apple pie!
