These festive Easter Sugar Cookies are decorated with M&Ms (or Easter candy eggs) and buttercream frosting to show Easter eggs in the grass. These are a simple and fun Easter dessert!
Mix cookie mix according to the package if you are using packaged sugar cookie mix or make the homemade sugar cookie dough.
Roll out the dough 1/4 inch thick and then use carrot cookie cutter to cut them out.
Bake for 8-10 minutes and then allow the cookies to cool completely.
While the cookies are cooling get your icing ready. If you are using store bought icing you will need 1 container of icing. If you are using royal icing you will need 1 batch and if you are using homemade buttercream you will need 1 batch.
Color the frosting you are using with a few drops of green food coloring.
Spread or pipe the frosting on top of the cookies. Use a fork to "pull" the frosting if you want a dimensional look to your cookies.
Add the M&Ms on top, you can also use Easter candy eggs if you want to instead of M&Ms.
