Ingredients

Instructions

  • Hard boil eggs by your preferred method and cool.
  • Crack the eggshells just a bit – you can do this by tapping all over them with a spoon or rolling them on the counter. You want the shells to be cracked but not taken off the eggs.
  • Pour the water into 2 bowls, add green food coloring to one bowl and orange food coloring to the other- be sure to add enough food coloring to change the color of the water.
  • Place the eggs into the water, and then place the bowl of water and eggs into the fridge. Let the eggs sit in the water for at least 3 hours, I prefer to do it overnight for the best coloring.
  • Remove the eggs from the water and dry them with a paper towel.
  • Peel the shells from the eggs and dispose of the shells, set the eggs on a plate while peeling the rest of the eggs.
  • Once all the eggs are peeled, using a sharp knife cut the hardboiled eggs in half lengthwise.
  • Remove the egg yolks and place the yolks in a large bowl and set aside.
  • Mash the Egg yolks with a fork.
  • Add in the mayo, mustard, salt, and pepper and mix well until everything is combined and you have a smooth mixture.
  • Place a star piping tip into a piping bag, pastry bag or ziptop bag and transfer the mixture to the bag.
  • Arrange the egg white halves on a plate. Pipe the yolk mixture into the hole of the egg on the egg halves.
  • Slice 12 olives in half and place half on them on top of the deviled egg mixture of each egg. These are the spider bodies.
  • Slice the rest of the olives into thin pieces - these will be the spider legs and place 4 slices on either side of the olive half for the legs.
  • Refrigerator until you are ready to serve.
