Preheat oven to 375F degrees. Line two sheet pans with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, and salt, set aside.
Cream the butter and sugar together on medium speed until light and fluffy about 5 minutes.
Mix in the molasses until combined.
Add in one egg at a time, making sure each egg is incorporated before adding the next egg.
Turn the mixer down to low and slowly add in the flour just until all the flour is combined.
Take a tablespoon worth of dough and roll in into a ball, repeat with all the dough.
Place the dough in the fridge for 10 minutes.
Place the balls on the baking sheet about an inch apart.
Bake for 8-10 minutes, until the tops start to crack.
Move them to a cooling rack until completely cool.
