Homemade Pancake Mix

Nothing beats making pancakes from scratch! This homemade pancake recipe makes the fluffiest pancakes with just a few simple ingredients. Starting with a homemade pancake mix and then adding the additional ingredients your whole family will start the morning off right with this easy homemade pancakes recipe!

  • In a large mixing bowl add the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Mix well with a whisk to combine flour and other dry ingredients together.
  • In a medium bowl add the milk and egg. Whisk together to combine.
  • Pour milk mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients and gentle mix just until combined. It will still be a bit lumpy, that is ok.
  • Next, add the butter to a small bowl and microwave the butter until it is melted.
  • Add the vanilla extract into the melted butter and mix well.
  • Pour the butter and vanilla extract mixture into the flour and milk mixture and gently mix. DO NOT OVER MIX.
  • Heat a medium sized skillet over medium heat to heat up the pan or if using a griddle heat griddle to medium heat, then add a small amount of butter or spray the pan with nonstick spray.
  • Turn the pan down to medium-low heat and pour the pancake batter into the pan. You can make full sized pancakes or silver dollar pancakes.
  • When the pancake bubbles form around the edges of the pancake, gently flip the pancake over to finish cooking.
