Apple Chips Using a Dehydrator
I am always looking for healthy snacks for our house. My toddler is so picky she will not eat normal apples but if you dehydrate them she can’g et enough of them! when you dehydrate them they remind me of those chewy apple candies. Now that its fall I can get fresh apple for only $0.89 a pound. So I will make more dehydrated apple then we will eat right away because they last a long time. I like doing a sour apple like granny smith apples.
Apple Chips Using a Dehydrator Supplies
- 5 pounds of apples of your choose
- dehydrator
- peeler
- bowl
- lemon juice
So Easy to do!! Fill a large bowl with water and add 3 tablespoons of lemon juice. Peel, core and cut the apple slices in half. Place the apple in the lemon juice bath while you slice up the rest of the apples.
Lay out the apple on the dehydrator racks. Turn your dehydrator on and let it go for 6 – 12 hour depending on how chewy you like them. I like them very chewy so I stop it once the apples are dry to the touch. Place the apple in a ziptop bag. Enjoy!
