If you love Pop-Tarts then you are going to love cooking them in the air fryer. Air Fryer Pop-Tarts have a warm and gooey center and the perfect crispy crust.
Air Fryer Pop-Tarts
If you have always cooked your Pop-Tarts or toaster pastries in the toaster, then you are going to love air-frying them. Air-fried pop tarts make a great snack.
If you have been eating them cold, I highly suggest you try warming them up. They are so much better when warm inside and the outside is perfectly crispy.
It is so easy to make any-flavor pop tarts in the air fryer, and my kids all say they are much better tasting when cooked in the air fryer than when cooked in the toaster.
I am often all for making things homemade, but there are times when the store-bought version makes for the perfect treat. My kids love having store-bought Pop-Tarts as a tasty snack or treat on occasion.
If your kids love having Pop-Tarts for an easy breakfast, skip using the toaster or toaster oven and try cooking them in the air fryer. I promise you it is so much easier, especially when they are done cooking, there is no trying to figure out how to get the poptart out of the toaster while it is still hot.

What is a Pop-Tart?
A Pop-Tart is a rectangular, toaster pastry made by Kellogg’s. You can also find the non name brand versions and store brand version in many grocery stores, and they are normally called toaster pastries. It’s a quick, pre-baked snack or breakfast item with a sweet filling sealed inside two layers of pastry crust. Many varieties are topped with frosting, though some come unfrosted.
Tips For Cooking Pop-Tarts in the Air Fryer
When you are making air fryer Pop Tarts, while it is super easy there are something that you can do to make them turn out the best.
- Preheat the Air Fryer. Preheat to 360°F for the best texture. This ensures even heating right from the start.
- Don’t Overcrowd. Place Pop-Tarts in a single layer with space between them. This helps them cook evenly and get slightly crisp on the outside. If you have to cook them in batches it is better then stacking them on top of each other.Â
- Use Parchment Paper (Optional). If your air fryer has a mesh basket, place a perforated parchment liner to prevent sticking or dripping filling.
- Timing is Key. Air fry for 2–3 minutes. Check at 2 minutes—Pop-Tarts heat up fast and can burn quickly.
- Avoid Icing Meltdown. For frosted Pop-Tarts, use the lowest time (2 minutes) and avoid flipping. The icing can melt or burn.
- Cool Slightly Before Eating. Let them rest for a minute after cooking—the filling gets very hot inside!
What Flavor Pop-Tarts can I cook in the Air Fryer?
Frosted Fruit Flavors. Strawberry, Cherry, Blueberry, and Raspberry all work great but watch the frosting—it can melt or bubble if cooked too long.
Chocolate & Dessert-Inspired. S’mores, Hot Fudge Sundae, Chocolate Chip, Cookies & Crème, and cinnamon all work well. They turn out delicious and the fillings get warm and gooey.
Bakery Flavors. Brown Sugar Cinnamon, Frosted Confetti Cupcake, and Cinnamon Roll heat well in the air fryer, especially Brown Sugar Cinnamon, which crisps up nicely.
Unfrosted Flavors. My whole family loves to cook unfrosted strawberry and unfrosted blueberry in the air fryer.
What temperature do you Cook Pop-Tarts on in the air fryer?
I have found the best temperature to cook pop-tarts in the air fryer is 360°F. I also find it best to preheat the airfryer before placing the pop tarts in it to cook.
How Long do you cook Pop-Tarts in the Air Fryer?
The cook time for Pop-Tarts in the air fryer at 360°F is 3-4 minutes. I like to check them at the 3 minute mark and cook them longer if needed.
