Keto Dalgona Whipped Coffee
If you are on social media then you have seen all the rage with the newest viral drink, Dalgona Whipped Coffee. As a coffee lover myself, I made the hottest trending coffee drink to try and it was amazing!
While that is fantastic for all coffee drinkers, those who are low carb and keto were having to skip out on the fun because the whipped coffee drink was made with instant coffee, sugar and water.
However it was not low carb and it was not keto friendly and while I am busy busy busy with all things homeschool and working from home I do not want to stick to low carb as much as possible and we came up with a keto version of the Dalgona Whipped Coffee! You are going to LOVE this Keto Dalgona Whipped Coffee!
Best Instant Coffee For Whipped Coffee
You might be tempted to go cheap here but I am telling you now in advanced you NEED a GOOD instant coffee when you are making whipped coffee. It is important to have a good coffee that is going to give you a good flavor. I personally prefer the Starbucks Instant Coffee.
Tips for Making Low Carb Whipped Coffee
The low carb and keto version of whipped coffee is not gonna whip up as thick as the traditional one due to using sweetener instead of sugar.
Any Keto Friendly milk will work with this coffee drink. We used almond milk because that is what we normally use however if you are not a fan of almond milk then any keto friendly or low carb milk that you enjoy will work. If you are wanting to use heavy cream I suggest doing 1/2 cup heavy cream and 1/2 cup water mixed together.
We used stevia to make ours however you can use any granulated sweetener that you have one hand including swerve and monkfruit. We used 1 tablespoon of sweetener in ours, but if you like it sweeter you can up it to 2 tablespoons.
How to Make Flavored Whipped Coffee
Adding flavors to your whipped coffee is SUPER easy! All you have to do is drizzle the flavor syrup that you want on top of the ice cubes after you add them to your glass before you add in the milk.
Flavoring choices are optional but I wanted mine to be caramel flavor. You can use any flavor sugar free sauce with this whipped coffee recipe.
I personally love the Torani Sugar Free syrups when I am making my keto coffee and that is what I use when I make my keto whipped coffees as well, but feel free to use what you have on hand.
If you are making whipped coffee and you are not keto or low carb, you can totally use the syrups with sugar in them when you are making this.
