One of our team mates brought up the idea of making ice cream bread. She saw the ideas floating around online and immediately said we had to try making it. Of course we love to try new things and see how they turn out and this was moved to the top of the list.
We have made lots of 2 ingredient recipes that have turned out amazing, so I know it is possible to have a recipe taste amazing like this. I was quite skeptical that it could be made using ice cream and flour. I mean yes mixing them together and baking them would make something, but would it actually be edible and tasty?
Well I was wrong, it was not only tasty but the kids gobbled it up! It was so easy to make and the kids loved it! Since making it the first time we have tested out different flavors to change things up and make it even more fun.

Substitute for Self rising flour
If you don’t have self-rising flour you can just add 1 tablespoon baking powder to the all purpose flour and then follow the rest of the baking directions.
Best Ice Cream To use
When you are making this 2 ingredient bread recipe you can use any flavor ice cream. The only thing you can not do is use a low fat or a low sugar ice cream. You need all of the full flavor ingredients for this bread recipe to work.
Our favorite flavors to use are vanilla, strawberry and chocolate. If you want to use an ice cream that has add ins in it already like rocky road, chocolate chip cookie dough, or cookies and cream you totally can!
When you are making Ice cream bread the great thing about it is how easy it is to change things up! The only thing you have to make sure is that you are only adding in dry add ins. You do not want to add anymore liquid to the batter. These add ins can be mixed in or put on top before baking.

You can serve as you would any other bread, but our favorite way is to top it with ice cream and make it a super tasty dessert! You can also make a tasty sundae with all of your favorite toppings.

How to Make Ice Cream Bread
Remove Ice cream from the freezer and let warm up to very soft serve consistency. It is VERY important that you allow it to melt to a soft serve consistency before you use it.
Preheat the oven to 350ºF. Spray a 9×5 bread pan with pan spray, set it aside.
Once you have your ice cream to a very soft serve consistency add the ice cream to a bowl. Stir the flour into the ice cream until well combined.
Pour the mixture into the batter pan and spread it so the top is flat.
Top it off with the sprinkles.
Bake it for 40-45 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean when stuck into the middle of the loaf.
Allow to cool on a cooling rack for 10-15 minutes.
