Cheddar Ranch Pork Chops Recipe
Looking for a dinner recipe that the whole family will love and want you to make time and time again? This cheddar ranch pork chops recipe is loaded with flavor and made often in our house.
It started with me making cheddar ranch chicken thighs, then went to me coming up with our cheddar ranch chicken breasts recipe. Most recently, this new cheesy ranch pork chops recipe was created when I had pulled out pork chops and the kids did not like my dinner plan.
They asked me for cheddar ranch chicken that night, I had pulled out pork chops and they asked if I could make cheddar ranch pork chops to try it out.
Needless to say, this recipe was a hit, and we have made it many times since the first time I made it.

What to Serve with Cheddar Ranch Pork Chops
Our go to is white rice so we can pour the sauce that comes from baking this recipe on top of the rice with broccoli but there are many other options when it comes to side dishes that pair well with this pork chop recipe.
Usually my go to veggies are whole roasted cauliflower, microwave baked sweet potato, Roasted Brussel Sprouts and Crispy Baked Sweet Potato Fries.
If you are looking for more sides to go with it, my kids also love Garlic Rice (Made even easier if you use a rice cooker).
- Rice or mashed potatoes
- Roasted vegetables – Brussels, broccoli, or cauliflower.
- Salad – a crisp green salad with a vinaigrette or a Caesar salad.
- Dinner rolls
- Sautéed Green Beans.
What substitutions can I make?
Pork chops. You can use bone-in pork chops or boneless pork chops. Just note that bone-in will take longer cooking time.
Minced garlic. If you want to fresh mince cloves, it will be about 4 cloves of garlic you will need to mince.
Mayo. Full fat version would be the best, but light would still work. It is up to you which brand you choose to go with.
Cheddar cheese. A sharp or extra sharp cheddar would pull the most flavor for this dish, but a mild cheddar would still work and be a good result.
Ranch dressing Mix. You can use the storebought ranch dressing packets or if you choose to make your own homemade ranch seasoning that works as well you will need 3 tablespoons to equal the amount of 1 store bought packet like Hidden Valley Ranch Seasoning Mix.
How should I store my Cheddar Ranch Pork Chops leftovers?
Cheddar Ranch Pork Chops should be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. To reheat, place pork chops on a microwave-safe plate and heat for 45-60 seconds at a time until thoroughly heated.
How will I know for sure that the pork chops are done?
To know if your pork chops are done, use a meat thermometer to check for an internal temperature of 145°F. You do not want to overcook the pork chops as they can become very dry if so.
Do I need to rest the pork chops before I serve them?
Yes, it is best to rest the pork chops between 3 and 5 minutes before serving them so that they have time to redistribute their juices. Allowing them to be even more tender and flavorful.
Should I use pre-shredded cheese or shred it myself?
Either will work; however, shredding it yourself will give you the best results. Pre-shredded cheese has a pulp coating to keep it from sticking together and cause the cheese to not melt as smoothly or as creamy.
How thick should I get the pork chops?
For this dish, a pork chop that is 1/2 inch to 1 inch thick is ideal. You don’t want them too thin as they will dry out and cook too quickly. If they are too thick, you could burn your topping before the pork chop is done cooking. Thickness will affect cooking time, so be sure to check the internal temperature to ensure doneness.
