Variations for this recipe
Use Pumpkin Spice instead of Cinnamon in the batter. If you’d like, you can use pumpkin pie spice instead of cinnamon. This will add cloves, nutmeg, and sometimes ginger (depending on the brand of spice), or you can make a homemade pumpkin spice blend to use.
Make pumpkin donut holes. If you do not have a donut tin then you can use a muffin pan and make dout holes. Pour the batter evenly into a muffin tin that has 12 spots and then bake for 16-18 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
Roll in powdered Sugar. Make powerdered sugar baked donuts by rolling each donut in powdered sugar instead of the cinnamon sugar coating.

Tips for Making this Recipe
Don’t skip the cool time in the donut pan. If you try to remove the donuts right away then they might split down the middle. When you are ready to transfer them to the cooling rack, I find it easiest to place the cooling rack on top of the donut pan and then flip the pans over. You can also use a spoon to pry each donut free.
Don’t skip brushing the donuts with melted butter. Brushing the donuts with butter really helps the cinnamon sugar stick to the donut, giving you a nice even coating.
Use a donut pan. If you dont have a donut pan you can make your own using tin foil and a muffin tin. Simply cut the foil into a 4×4 square and bend gently around your middle finger. Remove your finger and press the shape you are left with into the muffin pan.
