Pumpkin Bread with Streusel Topping
The combination of pecans and pumpkin is not one that you see very often. At first you might think that it is a strange combination, but I promise you, once you try it you are going to love it!
Pumpkin bread with a cinnamon streusel topping is delish, but this moist pumpkin bread with pecan streusel is soo much better!
This moist pumpkin bread recipe is by far my favorite and an easy pumpkin bread that is devoured quickly in my house. I know I say this often, but seriously make two loafs of this pumpkin bread when you make it.
My kids stand in the kitchen as soon as you can smell it baking in the oven, asking me “how much longer?”. As soon as they hear the timer beep that it is done, they are in pounce mode as soon as this pumpkin bread comes out of the oven to get a slice.
I do have to say though I don’t blame the kids one bit for being excited. I personally love to enjoy a piece of this bread with a salted caramel pumpkin latte or a Pumpkin Spice Latte. What can I say? I have no shame in my love for pumpkin!
Canned or Homemade Pumpkin Puree?
While I love homemade pumpkin puree, I know that there is not always enough time to make homemade pumpkin puree. So I have made this moist pumpkin bread recipe able to work with either one. However I will say that homemade pumpkin spice is the only way to go when you are making homemade pumpkin bread.
If you are making a large batch of pumpkin puree then you will want to use it to make these other amazing pumpkin recipes.

How to Make Maple Pumpkin Bread with Streusel topping
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and place the oven rack on the middle oven rack spot.
Butter a 9 inch loaf pan, then fit a piece of parchment paper inside the bread pan with a little overhang and set it aside.
In a small bowl whisk together the bread dry ingredients; flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder and pumpkin pie spice.
In a large bowl mix all of the wet ingredients. The pumpkin puree, sugar, maple syrup, egg and oil.
After the wet ingredients are mixed together well, slowly add the dry ingredients to the bowl of wet ingredients and stir just until they are combined.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth out the top with a spatula.
In another small bowl whisk together the strudel toppings; flour, sugar and pumpkin pie spice. Once mixed well use your hands to squeeze and smush the strudel mixture together. Once done add in the chopped pecans and stir gently.
Sprinkle the pecan streusel over the top of the pumpkin bread in the bread pan.
Bake it for 35 to 45 minutes. Check the bread at the 35 minute mark, if it is not fully cooked, cook for an additional few minutes. You will know the bread is done cooking when a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean.
Let the pumpkin bread cool in the pan for about 5 to 10 minutes before lifting it out using the parchment paper overhang to cool completely on a rack.
