White Chocolate and Pink Nonpareil dipped Strawberries
Chocolate dipped strawberries tastes amazing but they can be quite expensive to buy in the store so making them at home is a great way to save money and give a fun Valentine’s Day gift or make a romantic dessert! While it might be a bit scary at first that they won’t be as pretty as the premade ones, making them at home is easy and they will come out beautiful!
White Chocolate and Pink Nonpareil dipped Strawberries Ingredients:
- 1 pound of fresh, ripe but not too ripe strawberries
- 8 ounces of quality white chocolate
- ½ cup small pink nonpareils (or white + a dash of POWDERED food coloring)
- ¼ cup large nonpareils (or white + a dash of POWDERED food coloring)
White Chocolate and Pink Nonpareil dipped Strawberries Directions:
Thoroughly wash and dry your strawberries. To be certain they were dry I used a paper towel on each berry, including the green tops before dipping. You will want them to be at room temperature before dipping.
While your berries are drying add your (large, small, both or you can use different colors as we did) white nonpareils and a tiny dash of powdered food coloring a small bowl (we used a 4ounce mason jar). Slowly start to swirl the nonpareils around (think clockwise style motion) until the pink coloring has fully taken over all of the white. There will likely bit a little bit of the powered color left in the bottom of the dish that is fine. The longer your swill, the more developed and even the color will become.
Melt your chocolate according to the package instructions you can also Melt Chocolate in a Double Boiler. You’ll want the chocolate to be hot enough that it is fully melted, but not so hot that it will shock the strawberries and cause them to ever so slightly ‘cook’ this will affect how long they last for.
Have a tray lined with wax paper ready to go along with your chocolate and nonpareils in bowls that can easily be dipped into before starting. Once everything is out you will want to move quickly to ensure you’re able to dip into or sprinkle on the different nonpareils before the chocolate starts to set. (The chocolate will harden faster than you might expect-in only a few minutes). After dipping carefully place each strawberry on the tray with enough space that they will not touch. Let set up full then cover or transfer to an air tight container and store in the refrigerator.
Best when enjoyed the same day.
