Ahhh fall how much I love you! I am always on the look out to bring you guys great new fall flavored recipes to make it feel more and more like fall. Now this morning recipe is great for anyone who loves fall but is a little sick of all the pumpkin items….. not me I will never get sick of pumpkin! Oatmeal is a great quick go to recipe that I know will help my kids stay full for their day head. If you are trying to limit your dairy you can easily use your favorite milk substitute instead of cows milk.
Pecan Pie Oatmeal Ingredients
- 1 cup old fashion oats
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 1/4 maple syrup
Pecan Pie Oatmeal Directions
- Combine the oats, water, milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, sugar and vanilla in a medium sauce pan. Bring it to a boil over medium high heat until it reaches your desired thickness.
- Stir in the pecans and maple syrup.
- You can serve it with a splash of milk and and extra drizzle of syrup if you would like.
