Variations of this recipe
For this baseball cupcake recipe, you can use any flavor of cupcake, you can make homemade cupcakes, or use a boxed cake mix. You can use any flavor of frosting that you want, although I suggest sticking with a white frosting so the frosting is the same color as a baseball.
Add sprinkles. If you are using vanilla cupcakes add 1/2 cup of sprinkles in the team colors to the cupcake batter before putting the cupcake batter into the cupcake liners.
Use team colors for the baseball stitching. If you’re making cupcakes for a specific team, you can customize the colors to match their team colors and use M&Ms in the team colors in place of the red M&Ms.

What Cake Flavor combinations Can I use with baseball cupcakes?
There are many choices for flavor combinations that you can use for these baseball cupcakes. I prefer to use white frosting so that the tops of the cupcakes are the same color as a baseball. You can use chocolate frosting, strawberry frosting, or any other flavor frosting if you want but they will of course not have the white color like a baseball.

How to Store Cupcakes
It is best to store cupcakes in an airtight container on the counter. Cupcakes are best to be enjoyed within 48 hours of making them. They won’t be bad to eat after 40 hours but they will start to dry out and not be as fresh.
After frosting cupcakes you are ok to store them on the counter for a day or 2 but after that they should be stored in the fridge.
If you are storing them unfrosted you can store them in an airtight container or a plastic bag. If you are storing them with frosting on top I suggest using a cupcake storage container.
